Committees & Councils
Diversity Council
The mission of the Diversity Council is to serve as a liaison between the Federal Executive Board, Agency Heads, Federal employees and the community. The Diversity Council will work to promote an inclusive and nurturing work environment where individual differences and contributions are valued and are reflective of the complex and changing demographics.
Local Federal Coordinating Committee (LFCC)
The LFCC oversees the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) and ensures that a record is kept of all meetings and decisions made for the campaign. The LFCC is responsible for ensuring PCFO compliance with OPM regulations, and that the local campaign is conducted with integrity and free of coercion. The committee consists of current and retired Federal employees who work in conjunction with the CFC Chairperson.
Continuity Working Group
The Detroit FEB sponsors a Continuity Working Group (CWG) for federal, state, and local partners and coordinates with FEMA Region V to deliver training, exercise options, and discuss/update Continuity of Operations Plans (COOP). An annual tabletop or full-scale exercise is conducted. In FY 19 we conducted "Operation Candle Light", a Tabletop Exercise that addressed the closure of federal agencies to the public due to weather. 26 attendees from 17 agencies (including 4 Public Affairs Officers) worked through how we can do a better job informing the public when federal offices are closed to the public. The FEB provides information to the CWG that helps them stay current, such as the National Continuity Training Schedule, which is FEMA sponsored training available at no cost. All employees tasked with emergency responsibilities are encouraged to participate in the working group.
Alternate Dispute Resolution (ADR)/Shared Neutrals Program
The Detroit FEB manages a group of trained mediators that serve to provide a no-cost "Shared Neutrals" program to our federal community. In FY 2019, seven informal pre-EEO complaints were mediated with a 43% settlement rate, realizing a savings to the Detroit area federal community of $240,539. For more information or to request mediation services, contact the Detroit FEB at Lindsay.Sammut@gsa.gov.
