FEB.gov Western Region Seattle

About This FEB

Washington state hosts many agencies whose missions are tied to our unique geography, such as the Northwest Science agencies at NOAA, and the U.S. Coast Guard’s Pacific Area. What better place to study earthquakes and forests than the Pacific Northwest? See the U.S. Geological Society, Northwest Pacific Islands.

The Seattle FEB has been running a unique leadership development program, the SFEB Associates, continuously for more than 25 years. Many graduates of this program remain in the area and employed by federal agencies. The SFEB works closely with current and former Associates to collaborate and enhance our network.

Committees

  • Emergency Preparedness Working Group: comprises membership from each of our represented agencies and discusses protocols and preferences regarding emergency notifications and other cross-agency items of interest
  • Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility Committee: meets monthly via online conferencing, and offers special events (such as a recent panel discussion with some local leaders to commemorate Asian American/pacific Islander Heritage Month) as well as a forum for discussion about DEIA topics, including how our agencies are enacting the presidential initiatives.
  • Public Affairs Officers Committee: serves as an interest group of federal agency communications professionals to exchange ideas and support the work of Federal agencies in Seattle and beyond. Going forward, we will hold quarterly meetings and aim for an in-person get together once per year.
