About This FEB

The HPFEB is represents almost 130 federal departments and agencies in the Pacific. The HPFEB is the hub of the federal agencies in Hawai’i and the Pacific, connecting through communication, coordination and collaboration. Federal agencies employ over 90,000 civilians, military personnel, postal workers, and contractors. The top three departments with the highest number of employees are the Department of Defense, Department of Veterans Affairs, and the Department of Homeland Security. Nearly three out of every 10 employees or 27.8 percent of employed adults in Hawai’i work in a government agency. Hawai’i falls just behind the District of Columbia (29 percent) and Alaska (28 percent). 

The Prince Kūhiō Federal Building, formally the Prince Jonah Kūhiō Kalanianaʻole Federal Building and United States Courthouse, is the official seat of the United States federal government and its local branches of various agencies and departments in the State of Hawaiʻi 

The HPFEB is known for several programs, including the Pacific Leadership Academy, the Annual Excellence in Federal Government Awards Ceremony, and support for federal agencies in understanding the ongoing pay transition from COLA to locality pay codified in the Nonforeign Area Retirement Equity Assurance Act of 2010.
