Colby E. Stanton currently serves as the Western Region Director for the Federal Executive Board. In addition to managing regional staff, she is responsible for uniting top federal executives within the region, providing platforms for leaders unite under a shared vision of government service that is efficient, collaborative, and community focused. Her leadership ensures that the collective efforts of the FEBs not only advance federal operations but also significantly contribute to the well-being and support of local communities. She assumed this role after demonstrating exemplary leadership as the Executive Director of the Honolulu-Pacific Federal Executive Board from March 2022 to July 2023, where she significantly enhanced federal agency coordination in the Pacific region.
Prior, Colby worked for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) in Region 9. As the Director of Readiness at the Pacific Area Office from March 2010 to March 2022, she played a critical role in disaster response and recovery efforts, including serving as the Federal Coordinating Officer for several Presidentially declared disasters in Hawaii. She also served as the FEMA Region 9 Mission Support Division Director.
Ms. Stanton's held positions within the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). As the Director for the Center for Radiological Emergency Management in the Office of Air and Radiation, and earlier roles in EPA’s Office of Emergency and Remedial Response, she developed policies and coordinated responses to environmental emergencies.
Ms. Stanton holds a B.A. in Political Science and Chemistry from Wellesley College, an M.S. in Chemistry from the California Institute of Technology, and an M.A. in Security Studies (Homeland Security and Defense) from the Naval Postgraduate School, equipping her with a deep and diverse knowledge base to lead and innovate within the Federal Executive Board and beyond.
